Strathe, Son capture OJGT season opener

Jared Strathe of Owasso won the season-opening Lincoln Park East Spring Challenge on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour with a playoff victory over Jaxon Dowell of Edmond after both players finished at 140. Strathe shot a final-round 66 to Dowell’s 68 to forge the tie.

Yujeong Son of Norman continued her stranglehold of local events, shooting 70-67 for a five-shot victory over Isabella Caamal of Norman in the girls division. Faith Belmear of Owasso was third, 10 shots back at 147.
