Biata’s strong play pushes ORU into top three

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Oral Roberts men’s golf team used the momentum from its 8-under second round, and carried it into the final round, shooting 295 to move up one spot for a third place finish at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, which concluded play Tuesday afternoon. Arkansas State won the tournament easily with an 838 (-26), while ORU finished at 871 (296-280-295).

With his even par final round, Mike Biata finished tied for fifth overall, marking ORU’s first top five individual finish of the year. Biata was named to the All-Tournament team following the event.

Dustin Hasley had ORU’s lone eagle of the day, scoring a three on the 530-yard, par-5 sixth hole.

ORU’s second round of the tournament (280) was its best round since a school record 277 in 2015, and Cody Burrows‘ second round 66 was the best of his career and tied for the fourth best in ORU history.
