Bishop takes over lead in OGA Stroke Play Championship

Jacob Bishop of Edmond added a second-round 4-under 66 to his opening 67 to take a two-shot lead over Cody Burrows of Chickasha in the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Oak Tree Country Club’s East Course Tuesday.

Bishop, who this spring completed his sophomore year at Wichita State and was named to the All-Misssouri Valley Conference team, is at 7-under 133, followed by Burrows, who also shot a second-round 66. Burrows was an All-Summit League performer for Wichita State in his freshman season.

Luke Phillips of Edmond is four shots back at 3-under, foll0wed by first-round leader Tyson Reeder (64-74) of Oklahoma State and Thomas Johnson of Norman and the University of Oklahoma (69-69).

The final round is Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m.
