Bruner in seventh, TU women 12th in Amelia Island Collegiate

Fernandina Beach, Fla. –– Tulsa freshman Greta Bruner sits in seventh place after two rounds Monday at the 18-team Amelia Island Collegiate, as the Golden Hurricane women’s team is in 12th place after the opening day. Bruner turned in rounds of 76 and 70 for a two-over par 146, while as a team Tulsa carded rounds of 308 and 304 for a 612 total at the par-72 Amelia National Golf Club.

Mercer University leads the tournament with a score of seven-over par 583, followed by Campbell University with a score of 586.

Bruner’s two-over par score is six strokes behind leader Jiwon Jeon of Daytona State College. Tulsa’s Nadia Majidizadeh sits in 29th place following rounds today of 75-76 for a 151 score, while Anneke Strobach is in 61st place at 157 for two rounds. Taylor Dobson carded a 159 score, while Nicole Marquardt totaled 161.

Final round action will take place on Tuesday.
