HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The SWOSU golf team was unable to pass Arkansas Tech in the final round of the Henderson State Invitational, finishing second in the tournament. SWOSU ended with a final score of 877 (+13) through three rounds, four shots behind the Wonder Boys.
Marques Gomez was the Bulldogs top performer in the tournament, finishing third after rounds of 69-70-74 for a 3-under total. Stefan Idstam was the other Bulldog to finish in the top ten, shooting 215 (-1) through three rounds good enough for sixth place overall.
Kason Cook shot his lowest score of the tournament in the final round, carding a 73 to finish 24th at 224. Joby Gray finished 27th at 226 and Ole Hatelid shot 227.
Arkansas Tech won the tournament with an overall score of 873 (+9), shooting lower than the Bulldogs in every round of the tournament. Austin Harmon from Central Baptist College was the overall individual winner, shooting 211 (-5) through 54 holes.
SWOSU will wrap up its fall season next week at the Central Region Invitational in St. Joseph, Missouri. The event will start Monday, October 10 and finish up the following day.
