NEWTON, Kan. – For the second time in his Oral Roberts career, senior Cody Burrows earned an individual championship, finishing in a four-way tie for first at the 2019 Summit League Men’s Golf Championship. Denver’s Cal McCoy won Championship MVP honors in the four-man playoff.
With an NCAA regional berth at stake, ORU dropped 16 shots off the pace on the final day. Denver pulled away in the final round to win the team championship at 874 and the Golden Eagles finished in a tie for fourth in a group of four teams that were within a shot of each other. ORU (290-299-301—890) tied with North Dakota State (300-294-296—890) for fourth, one shot back of South Dakota and South Dakota State who tied for second at 889.
ORU’s two All-Summit League selections—Burrows and Dustin Hasley—each earned All-Tournament honors by finishing in the top five.
