MIDWEST CITY – Caroline Christensen shot a career low 73 on day two of the Oklahoma Baptist Fall Invitational to help lead the Cameron women’s golf team to a third place finish. The Aggies shot a combined 307 on Tuesday, giving them a 616 for the 36-hole tournament.
Texas A&M – Commerce took first at the tournament after defeating Redlands in a one-hole team playoff. TAMUC finished in 590 (299, 291) at the 36-hole event.
Christensen finished in a tie for fourth with a two round score of 145 for her first top-5 finish of her young career. Fellow freshman Bayleigh Johnson shot the second lowest score of the day for CU, as she carded a 75. Johnson tied for 16th with teammate Kennedy Wheeler, after both shot 155 for the tournament. Allison Duffin finished in a tie for 25th, carding an 83 in round two and finishing with a two round total of 159, while Katie Johnston rounded out the Aggie team scores with an 82 second round score and a 162 overall.
Coming in fourth place, just one stroke behind CU, was event host OBU, who shot a 617, while Southern Arkansas’s two round score of 638 gave them a fifth place finish.
Marion Benzekri of Redlands led all players individually with a 144, after carding a tournament low 70 on day two.
OBU shot 303 as a team, the low score of the season, and finished at 617.
Sophomore Shannen Stewart posted the lowest round of year for the Lady Bison at 72. She finished tied for 25th place at 159.
Michelle Carr finished in 75 strokes Tuesday for a 152 total, and a share of 11th place individually. Kadrian Shelton sat alone at 22nd place after a 77 today, her low round of the season. Shelton had a 157 two-day total.
Freshman Elly Baze shot her second straight 79, and finished tied for 23rd place at 158. Senior Emma Williams used 84 strokes in her final round, and her 162 total gave her a share of 31st place.
Five individuals competed for OBU once again, paced by freshman Grace Johnson’s 78. Johnson finished at 163 for the tournament. Olivia Klefsaas had the low total for the Lady Bison individuals, finishing in 161 after a final round of 80.
Paige Neidy shot 81 in her second round and finished at 163. Isabella Scarinzi had a 180 (91, 89) total, and Sidney Stover finished in 187 (95, 92).
