PARKER, Colo. – Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team closed with a 282 during its final round at the Paintbrush Invitational on Tuesday en route to a nine-shot victory at Colorado Golf Club.

For the second-ranked Cowboys, the win was their second in three starts this fall. OSU opened its season with a victory at The Carmel Cup before a runner-up showing at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational.

In their most recent outing, the Cowboys saw their second round halted due to darkness on Monday, requiring a Tuesday morning finish before starting their third and final round. OSU posted a 278 during its second round to move into the top spot on the leaderboard and closed with its 282 to widen the margin.

The Cowboys finished with a 54-hole total of 850, 14-under par, and nine shots clear of Colorado at the par-72, 7,357-yard layout.

Denver’s Petter Mikalsen claimed individual medalist honors, finishing with a 69 for a 13-under total of 203 and a three-shot cushion.

OSU was equally impressive in the individual standings, with all seven Cowboys finishing inside the top 20.

Junior Kristoffer Ventura, who competed individually, finished alone in second place at 10-under 206 after signing for rounds of 68, 69 and 69.

Junior Stratton Nolen followed a second-round 66 with a closing 70 to finish at 210 and tied for third place.

Like Ventura, sophomore Hayden Wood competed individually and tied for seventh place after posting a 73 during his third round to finish at 212.

Freshman Viktor Hovland carded a 72 during his final round to finish at 214 and tied for 13th place, while sophomore Zach Bauchou’s 75 gave him a 218 total and tied him for 19th place.

Junior Sam Stevens’ final round of 67 and classmate Brendon Jelley’s 73 during his third round gave each a 218 total as well.

The Cowboys will close out their fall schedule at the U.S. Collegiate Championship, which gets underway Oct. 21.
