Cowgirls finish fifth at Bruin Wave Invitational

TARZANA, Calif. – Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team closed play on Tuesday at the Bruin Wave Invitational with a 312 tally to finish fifth at El Caballero Country Club.
 
The Cowgirls’ 54-hole total of 903, 39-over, put them four shots off the pace of Arizona for fourth place at the par-72, 6,173-yard layout. Southern California cruised to a 13-shot victory after finishing at 1-under 863.
 
USC also provided the event’s top three individual finishers with Kyung Kim claiming medalist honors with a 3-under total of 213.
 
Cowgirl sophomore Julie Yang posted a 77 during her third round to finish alone in seventh place at 1-over 217. The showing marked the third time this season Yang has finished in the top 10 and was her best finish in three starts this spring.
 
Senior Jayde Panos also signed for a 77 to finish in sole possession of 14th place at 223.
 
Senior Lauren Falley tied for 33rd place at 232 after closing with a 78, whilesenior Amy Ruengmateekhun tied for 47th place at 236 after finishing with an 80.
 
Freshman Isabella Deilert’s 81 tied her for 49th place at 237.
 
The Cowgirls will be back in action on March 24 when they begin play at the SDSU Farms Invitational in San Diego.
