KANE’OHE, Hawaii – After wrapping up the final 18 holes, the No. 17 Oklahoma State women’s golf team notched its best finish of the spring season placing second on the team leaderboard at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course.
The Cowgirls knocked in 35 birdies as a team, which OSU secure its second place finish behind Texas. This marks the second straight year the Cowgirls finished second at this event. OSU has also won the Thompson Invitational five times.
Junior Chih-Min Chen was able to contribute five of those birdies in her final round of play and carded an even par 72 on the day. Chen finished the 54 holes at 7-over par 223, and her fourth place finish is her best of the season.
Emma Broze completed her final round of play tied for 12th on the leaderboard with a score of 12-over par.
Cowgirls Alexis Sadeghy and Stephanie Astrup followed close behind Broze, both finishing with a score of 13-over par and in 14th place on the leaderboard.
Kenzie Neisen shot 7-over par 79 in her final round. Neisen finished the tournament with a score of 22-over par and placed 38th.
In their individual performances, freshman Emma Whitaker shot 29-over par to end the tournament tied for 53rd place, while Emily Batchelder placed 69th on the player leaderboard.
The Cowgirls will hit the fairways again on March 23-25 in Tempe, Arizona, at the Arizona State Ping Invitational.
