ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.–Oklahoma State’s women’s golf team wrapped up its fall opener on Tuesday, finishing sixth at the Dick McGuire Invitational at the UNM Championship Course.
The Cowgirls finished the event at 11-over 887 after carding a 292 during their third round. OSU finished one shot behind San Diego State for fifth place. Northwestern finished at 868, 8-under par, and eight shots clear of the field at the par-73, 6,192-yard layout.
UNLV’s Dana Finkelstein carded a 9-under total of 210 to claim medalist honors.
Junior Julie Yang led the OSU starting five, posting a 71 during her third round to finish at5-under 214 and tied for third place.
Sophomore Linnea Johansson carded her second consecutive 75 to finish at 222 and tied for 19th place.
Freshman Maddie McCrary matched Yang for the squad’s round of the day, posting a 71 that included a double eagle to finish at 224 and tied for 27th. At the par-5 ninth, she holed a 3-wood from 227 yards for her two to highlight a five-hole stretch that also included three birdies and a par.
Freshman Kenzie Neisen posted a 75 during her third round to finish at 227 and tied for 39th, while freshman Alexis Sadeghy carded a closing 79 to finish at 241 and in 85th place.
OSU will be back in action on Sept. 28 when it begins play at the Annika Intercollegiate in Orlando.
