Cowgirls finish strong at Windy City Collegiate

CHICAGO – The No. 11 Oklahoma State women’s golf team combined for eight birdies over the final six holes on Tuesday, but had to settle for a ninth place finish at the Windy City Collegiate at Glen View Club.

Georgia took top team honors at the Windy City thanks to a 10-under 854, while Stanford’s Andrea Lee won the individual title at 10-under 206.

Kenzie Neisen was at the forefront of the OSU birdie-fest with four straight on the back nine. The rally vaulted the two-time Big 12 individual champ to 1-over par on the day and 10-over on the week, which was good for 54th place.

Isabella Deilert had OSU’s best finish at 22nd place. She entered Tuesday’s final round in a tie for 12th place at 1-under, but was 4-over in the final 18 holes.

Big 12 Freshman of the Year Chih-Min Chen carded an even par 72 on Tuesday to finish in 25th place. Chen was 3-under par on the final 12 holes of the day, but finished 4-over for the event.

Alexis Sadeghy and Linnea Johansson finished 32nd and 41st, respectively, after final rounds of 3-over and 1-over par.

The Cowgirls will return to action on Oct. 14 at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
