Cozby to meet Young in Yamaha Section Match Play Championship

Cary Cozby of Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa will meet Jim Young of River Oaks Country Club of Edmond in the championship match Wednesday morning of the Yamaha South Central Section Match Play Championship at Belmar Country Club in Norman.

Cozby edged Mark Fuller of The Club at Surrey Hills 2 and 1 in the semfinals after winning by the same score in the quarterfinals against Brett Wilcoxen of South Lakes Golf Course in Jenks.

Cozby halved hole 15 with a birdie and ran in a 25-footer to win 16 with a birdie to go one up and won the 17th when Fuller missed a par putt.

Young defeated Kyle Emerson of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club 4 and 3 in his semifinal after a 5 and 3 victory over John Burton of Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Ark., in the quarterfinals.
