Dalton Daniel of Newcastle shot rounds of 67-72 to win the boys division of the Red River Team Challenge, a competition between top junior golfers of the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour and the Texas Junior Golf Tour. The matches were held at The Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan Saturday and Sunday.

Daniel shot 5-under 139 to edge Chad Sewell of Conroe, Texas, Matthew Braley of Broken Arrow and Dawson Meek of Ozark, Mo., (playing for Oklahoma), who each shot 4-under 140. Daniel also recently won the OJGT Tour Championship. He has not committed as far as collegiate golf.

Texas players took the first six spots on the girls side to help Texas win the team event for the first time in three years. Adeline Norton of Ardmore and Madeline Smith of Norman were the top finishers for Oklahoma at 154, followed by ShaeBug Scarberry at 155.
