Edmond North grads Streb, Tway moving on in FedEx Cup playoffs

In a really cool coincidence, Edmond North graduates and one-time teammates Robert Streb and Kevin Tway were paired together Saturday for the third round of the Northern Trust Open, which was also the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Streb took a little better advantage of the situation, shooting 4-under 66 in that round and closing with a 69 Sunday to finish tied for 10th, moving all the way from 79th to 51st in the standings. The top 100 play in the second round this week and the top 75 the following week before it is cut to the top 30 for the Tour Championship.

Tway shot 70-73 on the weekend to finish tied for 43rd and moved up from 72nd to 69th in the standings.

Both players will be back in action in the second round Thursday at the Dell Technologies Championship at TPC Boston.
