Field, Hudson rolling toward Trans-Miss Four-Ball Senior championship

BEE CAVE, Texas —Lawrence Field of Tulsa and Steven Hudson of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, shot a solid 67 in the second round of the 39th Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Championship Senior Division Tuesday, bringing their total to 12-under and giving them an eight-shot lead going into Wednesday’s final round.

Three teams are tied for the second spot with two-day totals amounting to 4-under 138:  Kilby/Nunez, Ellis/Cornelia and Corson/Lohner.

Field is a member of Southern Hills Country Club and a board member of the Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame.

In the Mid-Amateur Division, nine combined-score birdies and just one individual bogey moved Arizona teammates Adam Walicki of Phoenix and Bryan Hoops of Chandler to the top of the leaderboard after the second round  at Spanish Oaks Golf Club Tuesday.

The duo shot a 9-under 62 to place them in first with a 15-under 127 total score heading into the final round Wednesday.

Teammates Josh Swanson of Austin and Creighton Honeck of Bee Cave moved into the second spot in the Mid-Amateur division, finishing with a 9-under 133 after two days.

California teammates Dave Sheff of Dana Point and Rich Tolly of Laguna Niguel remain at the top of the Super Senior division after shooting a 6-under 65 round, putting them at a two-day 12-under 130 score.
