The First Tee of Tulsa, located at Mohawk Park Golf Course, has been funded largely by a foundation at Southern Hills Country Club since its inception in 1999. The purpose of this program is to teach valuable life skills to Tulsa youth through the game of golf. Through participation in The First Tee, children learn positive values such as honesty, integrity, self-discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship.
Emphasis is placed on offering the program to Tulsa’s disadvantaged youth. More than 13,000 children have participated in The First Tee of Tulsa and more than $781,000 has been raised from the last 10 tournaments to benefit Tulsa children of all diversities and social strata. All proceeds will directly benefit programming for The First Tee of Tulsa.
