TULSA – FlyingTee will install the first Tee Suite at the world-renowned Bethpage Golf Course. Tee Suite provides a unique, interactive experience in a relaxed and sophisticated lounge setting allowing guests of all ages and skill levels to enjoy an easy-to-play version of golf and games indoors. The Tee Suite will also double as a one-of-a-kind viewing opportunity for sports, concerts and other major events.
“We are excited to partner with prestigious Bethpage golf courses in New York, to open our first Tee Suite ” said John Vollbrecht, FlyingTee CEO. “Bethpage pro shop services operator Kelley Brooke has a vision that is truly special, and we are honored to partner with her and our friends at Cobra Puma Golf, to change the retail and golf experience at Bethpage. Over the past two years, we have created a gaming experience unmatched in the golf entertainment world and look forward to bringing it inside the pro shop at Bethpage to make it a year-round golf facility.”
Bethpage State Park, on Long Island, New York, features five 18-hole regulation golf courses, including the famed Black Course, which will host the PGA Championship in 2019 and the Ryder Cup in 2024. Brooke says adding a Tee Suite, will greatly expand its established audience.
“I took over the Bethpage’s Pro shop concession and services in January with a clear vision of marrying the rich history of Bethpage to the growing interest in casual and entertainment golf, said Brooke. “I reviewed and met with teams with great vision and no experience, and teams with great experience but little vision for expanding the game. I selected the FlyingTee team because they have both – vision and experience – and the most advanced technology platform in the industry. They share my belief that golf is on the verge of a new era of participation and interest, and that must be supported by creating an easy and appealing way for non-golfers and seasoned golfers to enjoy the sport together.”
Tee Suite is driven by Flite, the technology arm of FlyingTee. At the three-story, 60-bay flagship location in Tulsa, FlyingTee provides the most accurate tracking for serious golfers and the ability to virtually play championship courses including Pebble Beach and Saint Andrews.
Vollbrecht said Bethpage will initially install two hitting bays that can entertain six to eight people per bay. Food and drink options will be available. Golfers can play other courses in a simulator setting or play the games found at FlyingTee such as Darts, Horse and Blackjack. Hopes are to add up to six additional bays in the future.
The Tee Suite will include a Cobra Puma Golf Shop n’ Shop, allowing consumers to test and purchase the latest Cobra Golf equipment offerings and Puma Golf apparel, footwear and accessories.
“When we started, we did so knowing we wanted to bridge the gap between golf and entertainment and do it in a way that would make the sport fun for both golfers and non-golfers,” Vollbrecht said. “Through conversations with Cobra Puma Golf, we realized there was a way to combine what we have created with their forward-looking vision of golf retail to truly change the game. We are excited to launch our product at Bethpage and look forward to announcing more locations very soon.”
“Cobra Puma Golf is all about game enjoyment, and we are excited to join FlyingTee and the prestigious Bethpage Golf Course in this exciting endeavor. Tee Suite will provide all golfers, from the seasoned players to the first timers, with the perfect environment to relax, hit some balls, try the latest and greatest products from our brands, and most importantly, have fun with friends, ” said Eric Logan, Chief Operating Officer, Cobra Puma Golf.
Tee Suite will debut in the second half of 2018 at Bethpage and will be a featured upgrade in casinos, arenas, hotels and other dynamic venues around the United States in 2019.
