Gellerman lands exemption to Air Capital Classic

WICHITA, KS – The Air Capital Classic announced its 2016 exemptions today.  The 2016 Restricted Sponsor Exemptions are Michael Gellerman and Kurt Kitayama. 



Kansas golf fans will enjoy watching the Sterling, Kansas native Gellerman play in his home state.  Gellerman played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma.  He currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma. 



As a sophomore in high school, he won the 2A Kansas State Championship and took the 3A State Championship as a junior.  Gellerman won the 2009 Kansas Junior Player of the Year, while being the runner-up in 2010.  He was a two-time All Big 12 performer and was named Third-Team PING All-America as a senior.  Gellerman has recorded eight hole-in-ones in his golf career.



Kitamaya is 23 years-old and played college golf at UNLV.  Kitamaya has made all three cuts on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada.  His best finish was a tie for 12th at the Freedom 55 Financial Open.



The Unrestricted Sponsor exemptions for 2016 are Ethan Tracy and Collin Moriwaka.  Tracy hails from Columbus, Ohio and won the 2011 Western Amateur and was on the 2012 Watch List for the Ben Hogan Award.  Moriwaka is a 19 year-old at University of California, Berkeley and won last year’s Trans-Miss Championship.



The Air Capital Classic is in its 27th year on the Web.com TOUR and is set for June 23-26 at Crestview Country Club. Tickets are available online at aircapclassic.com.
