EDMOND, Okla. – Caroline Goodin of Oklahoma City University took the Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship title Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club.

Goodin posted a 76-72-148 on Oak Tree’s East Course. Goodin, who hails from Oklahoma City, erased a two-stroke deficit entering the second round to win by two shots over Baylee Price of Northeastern State.

"What an incredible accomplishment for Caroline," OCU coach Marty McCauley said. "She has worked very hard and made huge improvements over the past year. She is a very deserving champion."

As a freshman, Goodin accumulated a 78.16 stroke average for the Stars. She contributed to Oklahoma City’s second consecutive national championship with an eighth-place 77-76-75-75-303 in the NAIA Championships on May 20-23 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb. Goodin made the all-tournament team.

Goodin posted five top-10 finishes, including third-place finishes in the Claud Jacobs Invitational and the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships in 2013-14. Goodin was named SAC freshman of the year, all-SAC and first-team all-American.

Third place went to 2014 Class 6A state champion Alexis Sadeghy who will be a freshman at Oklahoma State this fall. She shot rounds of 75-77 to finish at 152, two shots ahead of Leeann Fairlie of Oklahoma City, who placed fourth at 154, which was also good enough to win the WOGA Mid-Amateur Championship.
