The fireworks of the first round were missing, but Dustin Hasley’s 2-over 72 kept him four shots in front through the second round of the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Tulsa Country Club Tuesday.

Hasley posted the solid number after a rain delayed the start of play for three hours. He leads Thomas Johnson of Norman, who plays for the University of Oklahoma, by four shots after Johnson trimmed his deficit by one by shooting a 71 Tuesday.

Hasley had opened with a 64 fueled by a hole-in-one on the par-3 ninth hole, which was playing 237 yards, followed by an eagle on the par-4 15th hole.

Defending champion Brady Richardson of Tulsa is in third place at 141 after the day’s low round of 2-under 68.  Jack Howes, who is a teammate of Hasley at Oral Roberts University, shot 72 and is in fourth place at 142, a stroke ahead of Rhett Bechtel of Edmond.

The field was cut to the low 30 and ties for the third and final round Wednesday morning. Spectators are welcome.

Notes: Among famous Oklahoma golf family heirs, Carson Tewell, grandson of Oklahoma Golf Hall of Famer Doug Tewell, made the cut on the number at 151. Reagan Streck, son of Tulsa-based professional Ron Streck, did not make it at 161, but watch out down the road. Like his father, Streck is a great athlete who concentrated mainly on basketball in high school and could well be a late bloomer. He will attend Oklahoma Wesleyan on a golf scholarship.
