Hughett to begin title defense in OGA Senior Amateur

Michael Hughett will begin defense of his Oklahoma Golf Association Senior State Amateur Championship Tuesday at Fairfax Golf Course in Edmond.

Hughett was exempt from today’s qualifying round and will be the No. 1 seed. A complete bracket can be seen here.

Three players shot 69 to lead today’s qualifying. There were John Reese of Norman, Don Quint Jr. of Tulsa and Lawrence Field of Tulsa. Qualifying scores are below. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be held Wednesday and the finals on Thursday morning.

Hughett, of Owasso, will be looking for his fourth victory in this event and record 19th overall OGA championship.
