Ian Davis advances in APL qualifier at Forest Ridge

Ian Davis shot 1-under 143, the only player to break par and the only one of 30 starters to move on to the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in a 36-hole qualifier at Forest Ridge Golf Course Wednesday.

Davis, an Edmond native who plays for Oklahoma State, is coming off a top-10 finish in the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship. Former University of Tulsa golfer Andre Tourinho is an alternate at 1-over 145.

The 2013 U.S. Public Links Championship will be July 15-20 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va.
