Istnick, Hudson qualify at TCC for U.S. Amateur

Jake Istnick of Dallas and Sam Hudson of Fayetteville qualified for the 2013 U.S. Amateur Championship, besting a field at Tulsa Country Club Monday.

Istnick shot rounds of 66-71 for a 3-under total of 137, while Hudson rebounded from an opening 78 with a 6-under 64 to finish alone in second at 142. Two-time Class 6A state champion Max McGreevy, a freshman at the University of Oklahoma, shot 74-69 to finish as the first alternate, while Scott Verplank of Edmond is the second alternate at 4-over 144.

The 2013 U.S. Amateur will beld Aug. 12-18 at The Country Club in Brookline, Ma.
