Jelley impressive early in defense of OGA State Amateur title

Defending champion Brendon Jelley of Tulsa cruised to a pair of easy victories Monday in the Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship at Oak Tree National in Edmond.

Jelley, an Oklahoma State sophomore, defeated Sam Greenleaf of Broken Arrow 7 and 5, then downed Tyson Reeder of Edmond by the same score.

Play continues Tuesday with the round of 16 and the quarterfinals. The semifinals and finals are Wednesday.
