Jelley, Wood shoot 6-under at Karsten Creek to nab spots in 2017 U.S. Amateur Championship

Oklahoma State teammates Brendon Jelley and Hayden Wood earned spots in the 2017 U. S. Amateur Championship Monday by shooting identical scores of 6-under 138 on their home collegiate course, Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater.

Austin Eckroat of Edmond, an incoming Cowboy, earned the first alternate spot at 141, while the University of Oklahoma’s Grant Hirshman is second alternate at 143. 

The Amateur is August 14-20 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
