With most of the attention last weekend focused on Steph Curry trying to make the cut, Will Kropp of Edmond registered another top-10 finish on the Tour with a tie for eighth in the Elllie May Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Haywood, Calif., Sunday. Kropp shot rounds of 67-66-67-67 to finish at 13 under and lead the Oklahoma contingent.

Josh Creel of Edmond finished tied for 31st at 8 under, using an exemption he earned after playing his way in to the previous week through a Monday qualifier. Taylor Moore of Edmond tied for 40th at 6-under. Complete scores are here.

The top 25 finishers on the Tour season-long points (money) race earn exemptions to the PGA Tour for 2018. Moore is currently ranked 31st, with Talor Gooch of Midwest City 39th, Rhein Gibson of Edmond 66th, Kropp 71st, former OU golfer Michael Gellerman 100th, Chris Worrell of Jenks 123rd, Blake Trimble of Edmond 131st, Creel 134th and Charlie Saxon of Tulsa 135th.

While those players fight to move up to the PGA Tour or retain their Tour status, Oklahomans are battling on other tours to reach the Tour. Former OU All-American Max McGreevy inched into 17th place in the MacKenzie Tour (Canada) standings after finishing tied for 19th at 9-under par in this weekend’s event. The top five at the conclusion of the season earn a battlefield promotion to the Tour for 2018.
