A dream opportunity came true for seniors Navid Majidi of Union and Chandler Wasson of Mannford, who both competed in the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach this weekend.

Majidi teamed with Hale Irwin, who has won more events on the Champions Tour than any other player, while Wasson’s partner was Edmond pro Willie Wood. Both players got to play one practice round and one competitive round at both Pebble Beach and Poppy Hills. Neither team made the cut for Sunday’s round, but that didn’t dim the experience.

"For our chapter to have two players who made the field is just great," said Janice Gibson, executive director of the First Tee of Tulsa. "They have to go through a pretty extensive process and turn in a great essay just to get selected."
