McAllister, Son top stroke play portion of OGA Junior Championships

It appears the future of the golf program at national champion Oklahoma is looking bright indeed.

OU commit Logan McAllister edged OU signee Lane Wallace by a stroke Tuesday to win the Stroke Play portionĀ of the OGA Junior Boys Championship at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond.

McAllister, of Oklahoma City, closed with a 5-under 65 to finish at 7-under 133 for 36 holes and advance to match play beginning Wednesday. Wallace shot 68-64 to finish at 134., two shots ahead of Jordan Wilson of Edmond (65-71).

In the girls division, Yujeong Son of Norman added a 64 to her opening 63 to finish at 13-under 127, 15 shots ahead of Faith Stewart of Edmond. The first two rounds of match play are Wednesday, with the semifinals and finals on Thursday.
