McCrary’s runnerup finish boosts Cowgirls into fourth

HILTON HEAD ISLAND – S.C. – Maddie McCrary narrowly missed out on winning her first ever collegiate event as she finishes tied for second and helped the Oklahoma State women’s golf team finish fourth at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
The sophomore shot a final round 2-over 73 to finish the tournament at 1-over. This marks her highest finish in her career, besting her third place finish last year at the SMU/DAC Invitational.
As a team, the Cowgirls finished fourth following a final round 297 as a team. This marks the team’s third straight top five finish and their sixth top five finish overall.
Alabama swept the tournament, with the team winning at 16-over and their own Cheyenne Knight winning the individual title at even par.
Linnea Johansson finishes the tournament tied for 26th after a final round 78.
Kenzie Neisen also finishes tied for 26th after shooting a 1-over 72, which was her best round of the tournament.
Chih-Min Chen shot a final round of 74 to finish tied for 35th and Emma Broze finishes tied for 55th after a final round of 81.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on March 22, at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii.
