NSU in ninth heading into final round

AURORA, Colo. – The No. 13-ranked Northeastern State women’s golf team shot its lowest round of the tournament in the third round of the 2016 NCAA Championship, which is being contested on the par-72, 6,468-yard CommonGround Golf Course.

 The RiverHawks carded a tourney-best 9-over-par 297 Friday to move into ninth place at 39-over 903 (304-302-297). NSU is the low team representing the Central Region as No. 17 Augustana is 10th and Missouri Western State is 12th.

No. 1 Rollins continues to lead the field at 7-over 871 (290-288-293), while No. 10 Indianapolis remained in second at 14-over 878 (300-286-292) and No. 11 Dallas Baptist stayed third at 21-over 885 (293-298-294).

No. 7 Tarleton State shot up the leaderboard into fourth at 22-over 886 (301-300-285), and No. 4 Nova Southeastern is fifth at 25-over 889 (290-302-297).

Junior Baylee Price took over the lead for NSU as she moved up into a tie for 27th at 9-over 225 (79-72-74). Senior Charter Lawson used an eagle and three birdies to settle into a tie for 34th at 11-over 227 (74-77-76), while true freshman Kelsey Lumpkin improved 10 spots and is now T-42 at 12-over 228 (77-78-73).

True freshman Ebba Moberg is tied for 48th at 13-over 229 (74-75-80), while senior Kayla Schroeder used the third-lowest round of her career to jump into solo 65th at 24-over 240 (83-83-74).
         
Northeastern State will begin teeing off in the final round on the 10th hole at 9 a.m. (CST) May 21.
