NSU, UCO trail Augusta in Fall Preview

OLATHE, Kan. – The Northeastern State women’s golf team shot 303 in Tuesday’s first round to sit in second place at the NCAA Central Region Fall Preview, which is being contested at the par-72 Prairie Highlands Golf Club.

The RiverHawks are just seven strokes behind leader Augustana, who leads the field at 8-over-par 296. NSU shot 15-over 303 and is 10 strokes ahead of third-place Central Oklahoma (313). Missouri Western State is fourth at 314 and Minnesota State is fifth at 317.

Baylee Price kicked off her junior campaign with a 2-over 74. Her and freshman teammate Halie Wright are both tied for sixth place. Freshman Kelsey Lumpkin sits in a tie for 11th at 4-over 76, while senior Charter Lawson shot 7-over 79 to land in a tie for 22nd. Freshman Ebba Moberg is tied for 33rd at 8-over 80.

Augie’s Emily Israelson and UCO’s Marla Souvannasing have the individual clubhouse lead after both shooting 1-under 71.

The RiverHawks will begin teeing off in Wednesday’s final round at 9:40 a.m.
