NSU women complete fall slate, finish ninth in Fall Slam

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Northeastern State women’s golf team finished in ninth place at the Flagler Fall Slam. The tournament was contested at the par-72, 6,062-yard Marsh Creek Country Club.

The RiverHawks, playing in their final tournament of the fall, posted a 29-over-par 317 in Tuesday’s final round to finish at 73-over 679.

Host team Flagler College finished first after shooting a 25-over 601.

Sophomore Baylee Price led the way for the RiverHawks. She carded a 3-over 75 in the final round to finish in a tie for 16th at 10-over 154. Junior Kayla Schroeder tied Price with a career-low 75 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 37th at 19-over 163.

Freshman Alexis Armon shot 27-over 171 and finished in a tie for 58th. Senior Arizona Chin posted 29-over 173 and finished in a tie for 60th, while junior Charter Lawson finished just behind in a tie for 64th and a final score of 30-over-par 174. Lawson followed up an opening-round 94 with a second-round 80.

Jessica Bradley of Lynn University finished in first place after shooting 1-over 145 in the tournament.

Northeastern State will not be in action again until Feb. 16-17, 2015 when the team will participate in the Lady Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
