OCU ties for 13th in Bearcats Spring Classic

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Oklahoma City University finished tied for 13th at the conclusion of the final round on Sunday in the Cincinnati Bearcats Spring Classic at the Mission Inn Resort El Campeon Course.



The Stars, ranked fifth in NAIA women’s golf, carded a 326-332-328=986 on the par-72, 6,196-yard course. Anna Mikish spearheaded OCU with a 73-81-81=235, good for 14th place.



Cincinnati shot a 314-312-303=929 to finish on top of the 17-team field. OCU placed above three NCAA Division I schools.



Mikish, a junior from Choctaw, Okla., led the 104-player field with 10 birdies.



Caroline Goodin, a junior from Oklahoma City, placed 59th with a 84-82-82=248.

Abby Thompson, a senior from Edmond,  fired an 86-85-80=251 to finish in 66th place.



Kailey Campbell followed in 72nd place with an 83-84-87=251, while Raegan Barnes scored an 86-90-85=261 for 85th place.



Competitors faced a low temperature of 74 degrees and a high of 83 degrees with winds up to 12-mph.



OCU hosts the O-City Spring Classic on April 11-12 at the Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
