Olsen moves into second round of match play at U.S. Amateur

Zachary Olsen of Oklahoma State was the lone survivor among players with local ties in the first round of match play at the U.S. Amateur Wednesday at the Atlanta Athletic Club.

 Olsen defeated Adam Svensson of Canada 2 and 1. Taylor Moore of Edmond and the University of Arkansas, who tied for medalist honors, lost 3 and 2 to Jesse Heinly of Bend, Ore.

 Also going out were Jordan Niebrugge of OSU 2 and 1 to Will Zalatoris of Plano, Texas, Logan McCracken of Oklahoma City, who lost 2 and 1 to Kyle Jones of Taylor, Ariz., and Michael Gellerman of the University of Oklahoma, who lost 3 and 1 to Jonathan Garrick of Atherton, Calif.
