Oral Roberts, Oklahoma City in fray at MSU/Payne Stewart Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Oral Roberts women’s golf team shot 614 (309-305) in the first two rounds of the MSU/Payne Stewart Invitational and are in fourth place.

The tournament is being held at the Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield. ORU is 15 shots back of UTEP, which holds a 10-stroke lead over the rest of the field at 599 (301-298).

Kennedy Ishee led the way for ORU at 150 (75-75) and sits in a tie for eighth overall, while three Golden Eagles are in the top 20 after two rounds. 

Oklahoma City University is in 10th place, led by Kailey Campbell, who is in fifth individually after rounds of 77-72.

Savannah Moody, a junior from Weatherford, Texas, posted a 78-79–157, and Anna Mikish, a senior from Choctaw, Okla., turned in an 80-78–158 for Oklahoma City.
The Stars’ Raegan Barnes, a senior from Choctaw, Okla., contributed an 83-80–163, and Caroline Goodin, a senior from Oklahoma City, carded an 87-87–174.

OCU brought Melissa Eldredge to compete as an individual. Eldredge, a freshman from Eufaula, Okla., shot an 80-79–159.

The temperature at the course started the day at 68 degrees and reached 85 degrees. The wind blew between 12-15 mph with gusts up to 18 mph.

The tournament concludes with the final round starting with a shotgun start 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
