KANSAS CITY, Mo.-With a 306 in the final round, the Oral Roberts University men’s golf team finished 10th overall with a three-round total of 901 (304-291-306) at the 2013 Bill Ross Intercollegiate, hosted by Kansas City. Fellow Southland Conference school Central Arkansas won the tournament at 872 (289-290-293), edging out Oklahoma Christian by one stroke.
With the best ORU round of the tournament, Parker Dolezal used a final-round 69 to finish in a tie for 14th overall at 221 (77-75-69). It was the lowest round of Dolezal’s career.
Scott Newell’s 224 (77-73-74) put him in a tie with teammate Blake Brorman (71-71-82) for 23rd overall, and Will Paulsell shot a final round 82 to finish at 234 (79-73-82), tied for 68th. Anthony Skirk finished a shot back at 235 (80-74-81) and tied for 71st.
The final tournament of the fall for the Golden Eagles will be next week at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, hosted by New Mexico State in Las Cruces, N.M., October 21-22.
