NEWTON, Kan.  – Oral Roberts seniors Trevor Togerson and Blake Brorman finished their careers with a bang as both finished at or below par in the final round of the 2016 Summit League Men’s Golf Championship Tuesday. ORU finished in fifth as a team at 904 (311-295-298) while South Dakota State led from wire to wire to win the team championship at 878 (292-292-294).

Sitting at 3 over after three holes, freshman Cody Burrows settled down and played the final 15 holes with two birdies and two bogeys for a 75.

Trevor Torgerson continued his tear and also overcame a tough start, playing his final 15 holes to a score of -3 for a 71. It was Torgerson’s fifth top-10 finish and first top-5 finish of the season.

The 904 final score was the best team score since shooting 890 at the 2016 Bob Sitton Invitational March 14-15, a span of four tournaments.

As a team, the Golden Eagles finished in the top-5 five times, and held a 67-58-1 record against all opponents this season.

With the end of the season, ORU will say goodbye to six seniors; Dennis Andersen, Blake Brorman, Josiah Guajardo, Ollie Penn, Spencer Sheets and Trevor Torgerson.
