ORU finishes second in Summit League Championship

LOMPOC, Calif. – The Oral Roberts men’s golf team finished a shot better than yesterday, but could not hold off a furious charge from South Dakota as the Golden Eagles took second at the 2015 Summit League Championships.

With a nine shot lead entering Sunday’s final round, ORU shot 306 in the final round to finish at 912 (299-307-306). South Dakota used a tournament best 292 to finish three shots ahead at 909 (308-309-292).

Scott Newell used three birdies on the front nine and moved up to second overall at +5 for the tournament (72-76-73–221). Parker Dolezal, who held the individual lead after two rounds, finished fourth at 224 (70-74-80).
