ORU fourth, OCU 11th in Bob Hurley ORU Shootout

TULSA, Okla.  – In the first action of the year, the Oral Roberts women’s golf team stands  in fourth place at the Bob Hurley ORU Shootout at Meadowbrook Country Club after posting a 36-hole total of 607 (302-305). Sam Houston State leads the team race at 594 (292-302), led by Heather Shake, who used a first round 67 to grab the individual lead at 141 (67-74).

Alejandra Acosta (74-76) and Kennedy Ishee (74-76) each shot 150 to finish the day tied for 15th overall for ORU.

Oklahoma City University stood in 11th place. The Stars, ranked sixth in NAIA women’s golf, shot a score of 311-313–624 through the first two rounds of play. OCU stood in front of three NCAA Division I teams.

Kailey Campbell, a junior from Oktaha, led the Stars with a score of 76-75–151 with 24 pars and three birdies.

Oklahoma City is the only NAIA school in the field of 12 NCAA Division I schools, one NCAA Division II squad and one NJCAA school. Oklahoma Christian is in 13th place.

OCU’s Emma Allen, a sophomore from Broken Arrow, scored an 81-75–156 with 18 pars and four birdies. Anna Mikish, a junior from Choctaw, turned in a 77-85–162 card with 16 pars and three birdies.

Katie-Lee Wilson, a junior from Owasso, shot a 77-86–163 with 19 pars and one birdie, while Caroline Goodin, a junior from Oklahoma City, carded an 85-78–163 with 13 pars and three birdies for the Stars.

Abby Thompson, a senior from Edmond, shot a 78-85–163 while playing unattached.
The final round will tee off 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
