ORU shoots best round of season at Herb Wimberly

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Oral Roberts men’s golf team shot its best round of the season and the best since March 15, 2017 as the Golden Eagles finished tied for fourth at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate Tuesday. Grand Canyon won the team championship at 832 after a -14, 270 in the final round, while ORU (287-289-285) finished fourth at 861.

Cody Burrows finished in the top 10 for the first time this season and the 10th time in his ORU career, shooting rounds of 72-71-71.

Grayson Jones shot the best ORU round of the day at 70 and finished the tournament at 215 (73-72-70), the best 54-hole score of his career. At 13th, it was the first top 20 finish of Jones’ career.

– The 861 shot by the Golden Eagles was the best 54-hole score since March 16-17, 2015 when ORU carded an 860 at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
