ORU struggles in first rounds of fall season

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Oral Roberts men’s golf team started the 2017 fall season Monday at the Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State. The Golden Eagles shot 593 (293-300) and are tied with Wichita State for 16th overall. After a tournament record 268 in the first round, Colorado State finished the day with the lead at 548 (268-280).

Jackson Howes had the best individual round of the day for ORU with a first round 71. Howes had ORU’s lone eagle on the day, holing out in two on the par four fourth hole. It was one of eight eagles from the entire field on day one.

Mike Biata was steady throughout the first two rounds with 26 total pars, tied for the third most in the field.
