ORU women finish behind Lamar at Bob Hurley ORU Shootout

TULSA, Okla.  –  The Oral Roberts women’s golf team held a lead at one point in the final round and threatened the majority of the final 18 holes but finished runner up to Lamar at the 2016 Bob Hurley ORU Shootout at Meadowbrook Country Club Tuesday.

ORU shot 908 (306-299-303) for the tournament to earn the second place finish. Lamar finished at 895 (298-301-296) and had a pair of golfers tie for first place, with Wenny Chang winning in a playoff.

The ORU women have finished in the top five in each of the first two tournaments of the year, finishing third out of 15 teams in the first tournament and second out of 17 teams this week. The runner up finish is the highest since the 2015 Summit League Championship.

Tied for third, Kennedy Ishee posted the highest individual finish since the 2015 Summit League Championship when Paola Aviles was the runner up. It is the second highest finish of her career.

Freshman Beatriz Garcia (T-14th) posted the second top 15 finish in as many tournaments to start her time at ORU.
