ORU women nab second place in Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird

ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Oral Roberts women’s golf team improved eight shots in the second round to shoot 610 (309-301) for the tournament, finishing second overall at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird. South Dakota State shot the best round of the tournament to edge the Golden Eagles by one shot at 609 (314-295).
 
Alejandra Acosta moved into a tie for fifth overall at 149 (77-72), while Shinwoo Lee (77-74—151) posted her first top 10 finish of the season, finishing in a tie for eighth overall.

News and Notes
– Shinwoo Lee earned her first top 10 finish of the year, tying for eighth overall. Her 74 in the second round was her lowest round on a par 72 course this year.
– ORU is now 60-14-1 in six tournaments this year.
– This was Sirapassorn Cheepborisut’s second career tournament at ORU, having competed in the Bob Hurley ORU Shootout as an individual.
– Kennedy Ishee and Alejandra Acosta logged their third and fourth top 10 finishes of the season, respectively.
