ORU women’s team moves into second in Southland Conference Championship

MAGNOLIA, Texas – The Oral Roberts University women’s golf team shot the best round by any team through the first two rounds of the Southland Conference Championship and moved up from fifth place to second, five shots back of Lamar (603). ORU carded a 297 on Wednesday to enter the final day at 608 (311-297).

After an even par first round, Shinwoo Lee shot 73 on Wednesday and moved into the overall individual lead at 145 (72-73). Alejandra Acosta improved three shots and is currently tied for ninth at 153 (78-75), while the biggest mover of the day was Alheli Moreno, who improved eight shots after a first round 81. Moreno’s second round 73 tied her with Lee for the best ORU round of the day and moved her into a tie for 12th overall at 154 (81-73).
 
Paola Aviles lowered her score by four shots in round two, and is tied for 21st at 156 (80-76). Paty Torres is currently 43rd overall at 164 (82-82).
 
ORU will be paired with Central Arkansas and Lamar in the final round from High Meadow Ranch Golf Club as the last five groups to tee off, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
