TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts men’s golfer Trevor Torgerson continued to rack up awards on Wednesday as he earned Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Torgerson has already been named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and was the recipient of an NCAA postgraduate scholarship after finishing his senior season with a perfect 4.00 GPA in biology. He held the second best stroke average on the team and was top 15 in The Summit League and was one of six student-athletes at ORU selected to the Ultimate Whole Person Champion Team. He led the team in top-10 finishes (5) and finished fifth at the Summit League Championship with a +2 218 after shooting a pair of 71s in the final two rounds.
To earn the honor from the GCAA, golfers must be a junior or senior academically, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative career grade-point average oof 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
