OSU lands commitment from fourth-ranked junior

Last October, Matthew Wolff tied for third at the AJGA Ping Invitational at Karsten Creek. During his time in Stillwater, Okla., Wolff made an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State.

“I had the feeling (that I wanted to go there) as soon as I stepped on campus,” said Wolff, who would make another visit to Stillwater about a month ago. “… I just didn’t see a school that could top it.”

On Tuesday, Wolff, a 16-year-old from Agoura Hills, Calif., verbally committed to the Cowboys. Golfweek’s No. 4-ranked golfer in the Class of 2017, Wolff chose Oklahoma State over UCLA, Oregon and Florida. He also considered Texas, Stanford and Wake Forest.

“It was a hard decision, but I feel like I had the right people around me and Oklahoma State felt like the right choice,” Wolff told Golfweek after committing. “I liked the coaches there. I think they are the best in college golf. You couldn’t ask for better coaches. They are supportive, they push you, and they know the keys to move you into a great college career and pro career.”
