PALM CITY, Fla. â€” Oklahoma Stateâ€™s menâ€™s golf team finished play at the Valspar Collegiate on Tuesday with a 288 during its third round to tie for third place at the Floridian Golf Club.
The Cowboys finished with a 19-over total of 871, knotting them with Texas A&M. LSU posted an 860 total to finish second, while Texas came in with an 855 tally at the par-71, 6,999-yard layout to win the event.
LSUâ€™s Zach Wright claimed medalist honors after carding a closing 70 to finish at 2-under 211.
A pair of Cowboys came away as the squadâ€™s top finishers with sophomore Kristoffer Ventura and junior Wyndham Clark each closing with 69s to tie for 12th place at 216.
Senior Jordan Niebrugge posted a 78 to tie for 20th place at 218, while sophomore Brendon Jelley carded his low round of the event, a 72, to finish at 221 and tied for 31st place.
Redshirt freshman Hayden Woodâ€™s 84 tied him for 81st place at 242.
Four Cowboys were also in action this week at the Barona Collegiate Cup in San Diego.
Redshirt freshman Nick Heinen posted a top-five finish, firing a closing 69 to finish at 212 and tied for fifth place.
Freshman Zach Bauchou posted his second consecutive 71 to tie for 12th place at 216, while junior Zachary Olsen tied for 14th place at 218 after closing with a 74.
Sophomore Stratton Nolen posted a 71 during his third round to tie for 17th place at 219.
The Cowboys will be back in action on April 2 when they take part in the Aggie Invitational.
