OSU’s Hovland named Big 12 Golfer of the Month

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State’s Viktor Hovland was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for March after posting a trio of top-3 finishes it was announced today by the league office.

Hovland led the top-ranked Cowboys to three victories and collected his first collegiate individual win in the process.

The sophomore carded rounds of 68, 69 and 72 for a 4-under 209 total to tie for third at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. He followed with a runner-up showing at the Lamkin San Diego Classic where he finished at 203 after posting rounds of 69, 70 and 64.

Hovland earned medalist honors for the first time as a Cowboy at the Valspar Collegiate. He signed for scores of 67, 65 and 68, giving him a 13-under total of 200.

The Oslo, Norway native is currently ranked fourth in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
