OU women head West, OSU stays home, TU left out of NCAA regionals

Economics aside, the NCAA  Division I Women’s Golf Committee has determined who will participate and where in the 2014 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regionals.

So while Oklahoma, fresh off its romp in the Big 12 Championship, travels to Washington instead of driving 100 miles to Stillwater, UCLA flies to Oklahoma, where Oklahoma State will host one of the three regionals May 8-10 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies apply.

The championships finals will be held May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will be co-hosted by Tulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission. Once-proud Tulsa was not invited to a regional, nor was the state’s other Division I program Oral Roberts.
